The Governor of Illinois was actually impeached by the Illinois house because he is under investigation of trying to "sell" Obama's senate seat. Blago was asking for a job in the new administration or cash for his re-election campaign.
Now the Governor of New York has to replace Hillary. The leading contender is Caroline Kennedy. She is promising, that if appointed, she will bring Obama to NY to campaign for the Governor's election and her election in 2010. She is also promising the weight and financial backing of the Kennedy Political machine to help him get elected in 2010.
What is the difference???

Kennedy is trying to buy a seat for personal gain, whereas Blago was trying to sell a seat for personal gain.

Kennedy is doing what "politics" is all about. She is OPENLY aligning her political clout to Obama's coming power to further her party's chances of winning future elections. Although she is personally a light weight, she has family and personal connections and $$$$.
Blago was attempting to SELL something he didn't own, for HIS personal gain. He has no connections and was attempting to line his pockets, he didn't care about moral propriety or the law. And he has NOTHING to offer that can aid his party or his ideals.
I'm no fan of Caroline's, but there is a huge difference here, IMO. She, like most (rich) Democrats, is a fucking hypocrite.

I wasn't trying to compare Blago to Kennedy, I was trying to compare the 2 governors.

The notorious Kennedy clan has never been hampered by rules of any kind. If they cared about laws, JFK would never have been president. It was his bootlegger father who bought him the WH, (a well-known fact) by tampering with the votes in (you guessed it) Chicago.
As for our blind, black, unelected, and "very" politically ambitious governor, you can bet your boots uncle Teddy has already gotten to him. The fact that princess Caroline is a retarded, totally inexperienced recluse will not stop her from getting what is her birth right, especially since in NYS and NYC politics, there's no such thing as a Republican to stop her. In fact, the only opposition she's getting is coming from other power-hungry socialist Dumbocrats!
Well - apparently, according to news today, Caroline isn't in the running any longer: she gives poor interviews. Hasn't the woman ever heard of a teleprompter? Actually, they probably want someone blacker and gayer - you know - more mainstream.
