I received the following message this evening from Michelle Obama.
Dear Anne,
Last week, the Presidential Inaugural Committee announced that we're bringing 10 supporters to Washington, DC for several days of Inaugural celebrations. With the deadline coming up on Thursday, I'm pleased to announce the selection of the first grassroots supporter who will be attending the Inauguration.Cynthia Russell from Newberry, Florida, and her guest will attend the welcome ceremony, Barack's swearing-in, the Inaugural Parade, and our Neighborhood Inaugural Ball.
Cynthia is a builder and has been feeling the impact of the recent economic crunch. She wrote:
"I'm a single woman who has been building homes for over 18 years. I've supported myself and have been able to help out my mother from time to time. Now I find myself wondering how much longer I can hold on and be able to pay my bills and keep the doors open for business. Barack gives me hope. Hope that 2009 will truly bring change to Americans who find themselves in this mess with me."
We need to select 9 more supporters like Cynthia, and I would love for you to be one of them. Supporters like you made this historic moment possible. You gave your passion and hard work to this movement, and you brought millions of new people into the political process. Thanks to you, this campaign was open to more people than any in history, and we're counting on you to do the same for the Inauguration. You could be there to celebrate your amazing accomplishments and give a strong start to the change you fought so hard for. Please make a donation of $5 or more and help us celebrate everything you did to make this day possible.
Nothing could be better than having you there to be a part of this historic event.Thank you for everything you've done to bring us to this moment.
Michelle
I don't know how the Obama campaign happened across my name. What do you think? Should I invest $5 in a chance to be "part of history?"

A letter from Mama Yomama? Wow! When they find out you're a White, Christian, gun enthusiast, they'll suddenly remember that they're all filled up and kick you to the curb!
You would be better served to pay twice that ($10) to stay away from a probable terrorist threat.
Tell you what - I'll sell you a ticket to Jimbo's Condo, on beautiful O'ahu, for $2.50 - half of the Bitch's price to be around a bunch of lying liberals - and you get to be around me. :-) Show up on 1/30, you get to be SAFE around me AND C-Bug. (This is a limited time offer.)
Better yet - I offer you an unlimited offer to come to Texas and see me and Mrs. Jimbo and I will GUARANTEE your safety. (Except... you bring the bullets.) :-)
Wow, Jimbo! That sounds great. the next time I viit my daughter son-in-law and grandson in Austin, I shall take you up on your offer. How often do you get back to Texas?
Every six weeks is the company promise (though I only made 4 of 8 trips last year...)
Oh - make those .44 mags, .22 mags, 9 mm, 12 ga., or 30.06.
:-)
No problem. Oh, this should be fun!
What do the do with the money?
OT
Thanks for the pistol intel the other day. The P380 looks like it will be exactly what I was looking for.
It's a freekin raffle.
Ya know, like they do at carnivals.
Come on, step rite up an gitcher tickets to the Big Snorphtacular right here.....
Sure wish i had the Kool-Aid concession at Yomama's coronation! Jim Jones would be proud of him.
scam. bam, thank you ma'am.
Annie,
I'll throw in dinner in beautiful O'ahu! I don't remember.... do you drink? If so, dinner with drinks.
So what is Barack going to do for Cynthia? Nothing I say. NOTHING!
Annie, I'll throw in dinner in beautiful O'ahu! I don't remember.... do you drink? If so, dinner with drinks.
You are so sewwt, Jimbo! No, neither Big Jack nor I drink. We've had our fair share and most of everyone else's, so we will actually remember the evening, no one will have to walk home and no fist fights will happen. One of our business partners has a house on Maui where we go about once a year. The next time we come to Hawaii, I promise, we will let you know in plenty of time. I've never been on Oahu and I've always wanted to see the Arizona memorial. This will be a great chance to do that and meet you and Mrs. Jimbo in the flesh.
Uh.....Annie.
It's me who offered you dinner in O'ahu. Although Jimbo IS very sweet. Mr. Bug and I will be there on Jan. 30 (see Jimbo's first post). Since we didn't get to go Dec. 5, we rescheduled.
Although I am sure Jimbo would buy you dinner when you do come to see the Arizona Memorial.
