Can You Guess Where This Is Going?

Have you ever heard of the National Commission on Surface Transportation Infrastructure Financing? I know i haven't. The govt. is filled with groups like this, made-up of political hacks who are given a staff, a big budget, and offices hidden away in some basement somewhere. Every decade or so, somebody accidentally discovers them and they're forced to show what they've been doing, assuming they've done anything. In some cases, what they come up with can be scary, as in this case.

"Make the public pay for using public roads". What an interesting concept, except for the fact that the public (that's us) already pays to use those roads via their taxes. In fact, it was that same public and their tax money that built those roads! Is it our fault that congress has ignored the country's infrastructure by wasting, stealing, or simply giving all that money away to their friends?

Here in NYC, motorists are used to being bent over every time the state or city govt. wants more money. We have the highest registration fee's, the 2nd highest insurance rates, the highest tolls, one of the highest "vehicle inspection" fee's, (a total scam) highest fines for parking summonses, highest metered parking rates, and on, and on, and on. Yet, as every motorist here knows, you would be "very" hard pressed to find a decently paved road in the whole city!

Based on this story, it seems the rest of you had better practice bending over. Way over!

I left N.Y. for Fla. in 1987. When I drove back in 2005 to visit some family, damned if the SAME potholes were right where I left them on the BQE and LIE.

Isn't it funny how strenuously conservatives oppose any expenditures on THIS country but have no problem with spending $3 trillion on Iraq?

What is with that? Doesn't that seem almost treasonous?

Spidey, Don't you know...now that gas is cheap, we can afford a 50% tax hike? Surely no one will care when gas goes back up to $4.00 per gallon.

That's ok. Your grandkids will be taxed to pay for all the nice roads and bridges we put in Iraq.

That seems to please the conservatives more.

Do you mean the $3 trillion (a lie) approved by your fellow liberal losers in congress?

Did you know that many new car manufacturers send their prototype cars to NYC for testing? The idea being, if they'll hold up on those streets, they'll hold up anywhere.

Fact: In NYC, the average wait to have your street repaved is, 20-25 years, and in many cases, longer!

Perhaps the last 30 years of anti-tax conservatism has something to do with the inefficiency of government? You people HATE paying taxes but think your every whim should be immediately tended to.

Conservatives think a country can run on AIR.

Sure, the dems could have blocked all war funding. Yeah, that seems reasonable.

There's a real cock roach problem here.

Or I should say, dung beetle.

Liberals are low-life, name calling, shit-eating, brainless schmucks.

"It's George Bush's fault".

What absolute tiresome crap.

Hey liberal - did it ever occure to you that you're making an total ass of yourself?

No - probably not - you don't seem to have the reasoning ability to comprehend shame.

Fool.

Bloo,
Been chillin out. DeeFence industry mostly has ~2 weeks shut down over the holidays and I don't go online at home (the 5yr old won't give me any prime online time anyway).

Mega party'n with the inlaws here, got a wedding tomorrow letting fly wit my new 'toy' (see picture next to my name).

I have to compliment 'Cabelas' and 'Ammo To Go' on their prompt delivery of 1,250 rounds of .223 and 5.56 Nato over the holidays. I feel ready for the inauguration now.

Also getting things done around the house cause it looks like I will be having surgery for Cervical Spinal Stenosis in a couple of weeks. I meet with a neurosurgeon at Mayo this Wed to review procedure possibilities. Needed to get the lites down and other heavy kind of things done before I get chopped on.

Later....................... Poots

To all of the .223 persuasion

Cabelas has PCM .223 in stock. $216 for 600 rounds that comes in a really nice dry box.

I bought and was really satisfied with the deal.

back on topic:
so lets see, if I drive a Prius, I am good guy cause it uses less gas, but I'm a bad guy cause now I pay less gas taxes.

so the bleeding heart liberal ILK want to punish me for being green.

imagine my surprise

I mostly ride a motorcycle when I can and I have to say they are working on some of the roads here in NM. But there were some expanses in ARKANSAS (HLF your liberal daddys and ho's home)that have been FUBAR since I was a kid.
