I know that this is not going to be very popular around here, but president-elect Obama has moved significantly toward the center on Middle East foreign policy and offshore oil drilling since the start of the primaries. One only has to look at his major contributors to ascertain where his loyalties lie [e.g. Goldman-Sachs and Exelon Corp., the largest nuclear power plant operator in the country].
Early in his campaign the Senator said that he would withdraw all American combat troops from Iraq immediately upon taking office. Then the timetable moved to sixteen months. Now, who knows? He also said that the military resources in Iraq would be better utilized in taking down Osama bin Laden, which I interpret to mean capturing or killing him. I share this view.
Joe Biden was right when he said that Senator Obama would be tested within the first six months after taking office. This call from Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal for Obama to convert to Islam or suffer the consequences of continued jihad against the US is simply the first of many tests in the coming months. By the way, Egypt is the home of the Muslim Brotherhood whose credo is: Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. It is also the origin country of Islamic Jihad.
I would hope he does become more centrist. He will be Present Obama. Hopefully he will rise to the occassion because we are Americans, not democrats and liberals, and we want him to succeed and have us move forward.
Obama repeatedly has denied he is a Muslim. His presidential campaign website contained the statement, "Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian."
"Committed Christian" my hairy white ass. What an overt classless lie. Not even his worshipers believe that crap. Obama knows no religion except the one he and his brainless minions started. Obamunism.
If Obama becomes "centrist" it will be because he has no experience and is scared shitless at what he got himself into. He's a deer in the headlights. I bet he's been constipated since 11/6.
The big empty 'O' can puke a pile and roll in it. I feel only contempt for liars - he gets no sympathy and no support from me. I resect rat turds more than him and his worshippers.
Other sites I occasionally visit call Obama "Zero" because that's what he brought to his new office...nothing! No experience, no resume', nada.
He's also called "NMP" (not my president) because people believe he's unqualified under the "..must be a native-born Citizen" clause, and the fact he refuses to produce a document we ALL have readily available...avalid Birth Certificate. Or, for that matter, any of his [normally] public records. For instance, his school records have all been sealed. Is it because, on those records, he's declared a Kenyan, an Arab and a Muslim?
Everything the media has portrayed as per Obama is smoke and mirrors.
So now it's not just leave us alone, but support us too? Apparently the Moose-lambs have been watching CNN and seeing all the TRILLIONS being given away!
There's one little thing you all forget. In spite of the impression that's being created for us, he's not sitting in the Oval Office yet. Right now he can say anything he wants without any fear of having to pay a price. If something doesn't come out right, his staff and the MSM will simply twist it until it sounds right. And we all know who's going to get the blame when things start to go sideways.
And aside from his words, what has he ever done that would give you the idea he's a centrist? Yes, he's already changed his positions on many different things. So many times in fact, that he's even got some of the hard-core Leftists angry with him. But does that mean he's moving to the center, (it would be the first time in his life) or simply lying, or does it mean he's already started campaigning for 2012?
After 8 years of GWNitwit in the WH, we're all desperate for someone who knows what the hell he's doing. It was (IMO) that desperation that caused so many people to vote for a totally unqualified and completely inexperienced nobody, who's "real" background we still know nothing about. We'll see how far his fancy words get us.
Unfortunately, he is going to be the next president of the United States regardless of how much you/we don't look forward to it.
My oath is to the Constitution not the office of the person who is President. Lucky me or I would have had to quit 16 years ago.
Regardless, of what we think of the Obamessiah, and until someone actually is willing to put their neck on the line to demand proof of citizenship....we are stuck waiting for the revolution to begin.
Until then,...I will obey the orders of the President....unless they are unlawful of course.
As Alan said, whether we like it or not Barack Obama is going to be our president for the next four years. As a practical matter, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Indeed, what other choice do I have? I was against the war in Iraq from its inception because it diverted men and materials from the hunt for Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan. Now the Taliban in Afghanistan has become strong enough to export its philosophy of violence to Pakistan and sent terrorists to perpetrate the Mumbai massacre. The next wave of terror is not going to come from Iraq or Iran [until Ahmadinejad can get hold of a nuclear device]. Pakistan already has nukes, going back to 1979 and the fall of our embassy in Tehran. Faced with the loss of our only listening post in the area, US officials turned their collective head and allowed then Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto to travel to North Korea and return with a briefcase full of blueprints for a nuclear device.
Now, Asif Ali Zardari [Bhutto's widower] has taken over for the American backed former president, General Pervez Musharraf. There are serious doubts about Zardari's intellectual capacity and certainly his ability to control the situatiion inside his country. During the primary campaigns, Obama voiced his support for cross-border attacks from Afghanistan to destroy terrorist bases in Pakistan which brought swift condemnation from Pakastani officials.
Guys, there is a rule in politics that states, "The higher you go, the more toward the center you are forced." It's fine for candidate Obama to say that all American forces will be out of Iraq the day after he is sworn in. It's quite another thing to accomplish that feat. We can all see Obama's move toward the political center in his changed approach to Middle East foreigh policy as well as energy policy. I can only hope his move to the center continues.
Pakistan is about 70% Sunni [as were all the 9/11 hijackers, as is most of Saudi Arabia] about 20% Shiia and has 15% of the world's Muslim population and second only to Indonesia in terms of the numbers of Muslims living there. If Pakistan blows up because of inept leadership from within or from neglect from without, it is going to spell big trouble for us, as in U. S.
A 2 + 2 = 5 class numeric system, which calculates that the Nanny State can tax and spend a nation to prosperity, as long as the mint’s printing presses don’t self-destruct from the incessant use.
Look at his appointments. Liberals as far as the eye can see.
Such as Robert Gates and Timothy Geithner? Obama cannot continue to oppose offshore drilling, nuclear power plant construction; nor can he continue to militate for a withdrawal of all American combat troops fropm Iraq, although I wish he would. If you are saying he has not fundamentally changed his positions on these issues you are not paying attention.
Our liberal idiot has a point. If anyone thinks this half-breed is going to govern from anywhere but the far left, you have a big surprise in store, and not a pleasant one either. Stop listening and start looking.
Even the centrists he's appointing will move to the left now that they're working for Obama.
And the economic calamity caused by conservatism will have an enormous effect on the dominant paradigm, with everything lurching somewhat violently leftward.
As the meltdown accelerates the left will become more militant and powerful.
I was certainly not emotionally vested in either one of the candidates for president. That the slightly worse of two evils won is simply an inevitable result of 8 years of totally, miserably failed presidency. THe great economic times that we saw during bush's tenure will be forgotten as a result of this economic meltdown. The years of security despite terrorist attacks the world over will be forgotten as a result of his mis-management of Iraq. His legacy of being a compassionate conservative will be squandered because he wasn't:
His administration spent more money than any other administration, EVER. Not conservative, fiscally LIBERAL.
His administration oversaw the invasion of a foreign conuntry, and then let politics and cowardice get in the way of running the war properly. After Truman's Korea, Johnson's Vietnam, Clinton's Somalia, and so on, this is more of a left/liberal thing to do than conservative. I can count on one hand the number of unprovoked foreign excapades that a conservative president has undertaken,a nd every one of them (Grenada, Panama, Gulf War I) has a definite start, a definite goal, and subsequently, a definite ending. SO, Iraq was really more of a liberal thing to do.
And finally, his wanton disregard for our rights vis a vis the USAPA, will cause Bush to go down in history as a BAD president.
As a result, the people were feeling retaliatory, and instead of hiring the guy with decent qualifications, they hirder the total unknown, who not only has no qualifications to run the country (a community organizer? seriously? So my guess is the pot-luck down at the public pools will be run like clockwork, but what about WAR? where is his experience there?) but has also taken as many steps as he possibly can to hide his past from us by not releasing his college information, or releasing a valid birth certificate (the one on his website is issued to non-us nationals to record births outside Hawaii upon request, so that one won't do) to show that he is a citizen.
Now, I believe that he is a citizen. It makes no logical sense that he would run, and that the DNC would ALLOW him to run, were he not. However, this policy of secrecy and no-communication to the people reeks of Dick Cheney's imperial vice presidency, and none of us want or need that.
So not only does he have no resume, we don't even really know much about him.
For instance, if he did, indeed, travel to Pakistan in the late 80's as he claims (a time when Americans were not allowed to go to Pakistan) what passport did he use to get in? He couldn't have used a US passport, so did he use an Indonesian passport? If so, that makes him an indonesian citizen, and puts in question his ability to be the President.
It also makes one wonder about hsi choices to hide his college transcripts. Did he apply or foreign student aid because he was indonesian? Is that why he won't release them? He went to Pakistan about the same time, remember...
All of this poses questions that only he can answer, yet he refuses. He isn't even president yet, and he is already being totally dishonest... This is not the change we need, Mr. Obama.

Isn't this what the polar bear said about the black bear?

Alan - I feel your pain. (Sort of.) I can't be court marshalled for turning my back on (not soluting) the unqualified retaliation for Bush.
That's all he is - not a "leader" - a simple relatiation: the result of a temper tantrum thrown by a majority of nitwits.
No Kool-Aid drinking, simply realism...

MESSIAH MATH,
A 2 + 2 = 5 class numeric system, which calculates that the Nanny State can tax and spend a nation to prosperity, as long as the mint’s printing presses don’t self-destruct from the incessant use.
I always love a post centered around a news item from World Net Daily.
What, no two-headed babies to write about?
I wouldn't care if he was a muslim. But I can tell you what he won't be: a centrist. That's just wishful thinking.
Look at his appointments. Liberals as far as the eye can see.
That would be "white hairy" ass and "Present" obama. Please read carefully.
And I like Kool-Aid with vodka and lime.

By 2010 it's gonna suck to be a republican.
It already sucks to be a Republican. But now it's our turn (again) to show it sucks even more to be a liberal democrat.
Now who's sporting a crystal ball?
