Merry Christmas Phoenix

David Spade Buys High-Powered Rifles for Local Police Department
Tuesday, December 23, 2008
By Adam Housley

David Spade made a $100,000 gift to the Phoenix, Arizona police department.
LOS ANGELES — Actor and one-time Phoenix resident David Spade has donated $100,000 to the Phoenix Police Department. The department will use the much needed funds to buy high-powered rifles to defend the city from the growing influence of Mexican drug cartels.

My guess is Spade has now made some big-time Hollywood enemies who will see this as an assault on "helpless" Mexicans. Of course, these new enemies of his are snivelling self-centered idiot-liberals which aren't anyones' friend to begin with.

Hat's off to Mr. Spade.

The article says that a few years ago that Spade gave $25k to the family of an officer killed in Phoenix. I have to give him kudos for not only taking it upon himself to support outgunned outnumbered police (blade the federal government for allowing the invasion in the first place and doing NOTHING to help), but also to not forget where he came from. Merry Christmas Mr. Spade.

That creepy little dude did something like this? I guess his time in Hollyweird hasn't taken away the lessons he was taught at home.

Way to creepy dude!

The police will waste the money. I worked at a police department and they are some of the dumbest, most wasteful shitbags you'll find.

Power corrupts.

Hey! Maybe you guys can get a collection together and raise enough money so we all have high-powered rifles! That seems to be your answer to everything. MORE VIOLENCE!

Of course, the police would have enough money if conservative Arizonians would just pay some taxes. Also, the social strife of a shit-conservative state like Arizona is what creates the violent society. I've spent a lot of time in Phoenix. It's like a third world hellhole.

Interesting that the liberal places like Portland, Seattle and San Francisco don't have as much violence.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, because owning guns = more violence.

Idiot.

Blue said...

ya think all the illegals in Phoenix have anything to do with making it a third world hellhole????

Anonymous said...

No, the whole state is that way. A few people with money and the rest live like poor South Americans. That's how conservative states are run.

We have lots of illegals and immigrants up here. So does California. Neither is the hellhole that we call Phoenix.

Actually, I think most of the regulars here are holders of concealed firearms permits [in those places where they're legal]. Even a cursory examination of crime statistics reveals that violent crimes committed by CCW permit holders are almost non existent. I never want to find myself in a situation in which I have but two available options, shoot or don't shoot a human being. For that reason I have availed myself of many, many hours of defensive handgun training, Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (c), PPCT (c) and unarmed self defense training. I have vowed never to draw a weapon on an unarmed person, even if he is attacking me and never, ever to strike someone over mere words or insults.

I believe that violence begets only more violence; but there are people for whom violence or the threat of violence is the only thing that prevents them from taking my property, my dignity and my life. Those who do not respect the law must be made to fear the law. The law allows me the right to defend myself and others with lethal force if I believe that my life is in danger.

That said, if I shoot someone it is not a get out of jail free card to simply say, "Oh, I thought he was going to kill me." There are some elements that must be present to justify the use of deadly force.

1. The attacker must possess the ability or apparent ability to kill or seriously injure you or a third person.

2. The attacker must have the opportunity to do so.

3. The attacker must have placed you or a third person ion immediate danger of death or serious injury.

4. I must have taken all other alternatives to deadly force available to me at that time and place.

Even with all these conditions present, if I shoot someone in the head or the throat, I stand a good chance of being convicted of manslaughter.

Countries with strict guns laws have almost no gun violence.

Annie said...

Like China, Cuba, and the old USSR?

Like it or not, firearms are a integral part of our country's history and are socially acceptable in our society and always will be. I have my own theories about why the US of A is a violent place and it has absolutely nothing to do with the availibility of guns or indeed any other types of weapons.

just so HLF doesn't misunderstand - my view of the way the world should be is - rich republicans living in mansions who pay poor democrat less than minimum wage to toil for us.

I need some to mow my yard, HLF you interested??

Educate me about the gun laws there and the violence. I'm not familiar.

"Interesting that the liberal places like Portland, Seattle and San Francisco don't have as much violence."

1- Neither state borders Mexico
2- They are too busy hugging trees and packing fudge

Anonymous said...

yeah yeah yeah,,, California borders Mexico, but they run out of ammo way before they get as far north as Frisco.

Being knifed, strangled, poisoned, or thrown out a window is much more civilized.

Yeah, I'm too sure you're a rich republican.

Weren't you the one whining about being a white male making under $50K?

Blue said...

nope - when I retired several years ago at age 55 I was making 275K/yr
my pension is 125K/yr

So I guess when the bad guys break into The Dumbasses house and start stealing all his stuff and raping his boyfriend - he won't call the police because police are stupid and power corrupts.

What an absolute total stupid piece of shit HLF is. Lying crap-eating worthless liberal bastard.

And that' all I have good to say about the idiot.

Anonymous said...

No wonder you're a republican. Good thing you're old. Conservatives made sure there are no more pensions.

Another ingrateful guy who lived through the times of liberalism and doesn't appreciate the perks it gave him.

Oh well, your grandkids will suffer the consequences of your conservative support.

Being an intelligent man, of course you are familiar with the gun laws in the USSR, Cuba and China...private gun ownership was/is prohibited. And, of course you are certainly aware that the violence in those countries took the form of violence perpetrated by the state upon the individual; violence so profound that one of the states was forced to build a wall to keep its citizens from fleeing to the West; violence so profound that people leave that island paradise upon rafts constructed of inner tubes to reach the US; violence so profound that it allowed an obscenity like Tiananmen Square to occur in full view of the world.

Perhaps you can explain to me why the American cities with the strictest gun control laws consistently have the highest rates of violent crime, e. g. Detroit, Chicago, New York and the District of Columbia.

Annie said...

Oh, sorry...

I left out sunny LA, where the murder rate is 1.75 times the national average; armed robbery is 1.97; aggravated assault is 2.19 and all violent crime is 2.13 times the national average. The good news is that forcible rape is only .88 times the national average. Also, peaceful San Francisco is:

1. Murder: 1.17

2. Armed Robbery: 1.81

3. All Violent Crime: 1.24

Right across the bay in Oakland:

1. Murder: 3.50

2. Rape: 1.81

3. Armed Robbery: 2.78

4. Aggravated Assault: 1.87

5. All Violent crime: 2.31

To be fair, the following is where Sin City ranks:

1. Murder: 1.55

2. Rape: 1.18

3. Armed Robbery: 1.52

4. Aggravated Assault: 1.06

5. All violent crime: 1.29

You must mean like India, where the moos-lambs came in shooting, and even the cops were too scared to pull the trigger. " An armed society is a polite society" Heinlein

On a related note, what does a police dept. need with 'assault rifles'? Will they turn them all in when the messiah reinstates the AWB?

Blue said...

old & rich, so when I need a transplant I'll buy your body parts -that's all democrats are good for - spare parts

Oh & unlike the rich liberals, Gates, Buffett etc..I am not disinheriting my grandkids

Great, they'll be parasitic republicans. In other word, normal.

PS. Spare parts took all the power from republicans.

Annie, I don't think your story makes sense. Why is it that any country or place you don't like is either killing "millions" of people or horribly violent? Is it fantasy?

What story? Do you deny that the ruling powers in the USSR and East Germany built the Berlin Wall to keep citizens from fleeing; that people have been fleeing Cuba since Castro assumed power in 1959; that the massacre in Tiananmen Square did not occur?

As far as "killing millions of people," Josef Stalin killed far more of his own countrymen in various pogroms and exiles to the Gulag than did Adolf Hitler in his "Final Solution."

It may not make sense to you, my darling, but I should imagine that it would make sense to the majority of people in the US of A. I absolutely know beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt that you understand the example.

It would appear that you, in your stubborn refusal to accept facts personify the quote by Herbert Spencer, "There is a principle that is a bar against all information; that is proof against any argument; that is guaranteed to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. That principle is contempt prior to investigation."

Annie said...

Oh, and...

That quote comes from P. 578 [or 587, I'm too lazy to look it up] of the Third Edition of the book we use in that society of misfits and malcontents founded in Akron, OH in 1935.

In any case, HLF, I'm delighted that you came and decided to stick arouind for a while.

Annie said...

Oh, and...

As for the need for police departments needing superior firepower, do we all remember the North Hollywood Bank of America shootout?

Annie said...

Sorry, HLF...

That was a little harsh, especially for this time of year. Merry Christmas

Let me guess. You were part of a diversity training program, or you were part of the let's welcome gays program?

Besides, in the Northwestern states, even the cops are PC'ized pussies, a title which seems to fit you perfectly.

Sorry, spidey. I was a CSI guy in the Midwest, major city. Even attended the FBI Academy in DC for specialized training 3 times.
