Odd weather patterns are one of the consequences of global warming. If you weren't so busy cleaning your guns you might know something.
Personally, I don't care if the earth perishes in 30 years. I don't have kids and don't give a rip if yours are left with an unihabitable planet. It's inevitable that the ignorance and greed that infects the majority will destroy us. But once I'm dead I don't care.

If this is supposed to happen once every 25 years but has already happened twice is 5 years, do you think that if Algore stands on his head it will cause the weather to reverse its course and start warming the globe again? I'm just askin'.

I should add - the planets I listed were suffering Global Warming the same time Earth was. They, as us, have been experiencing Global Cooling the last 10 years.

It's true we do have global warming, then global cooling, then global warming. From what I see, they seem to be averaging about an 11 year cycle.
I do know that I get tired of hearing how the US is responsible for all of the climate change. The real question is, why is it that the US of A has reduced it's "carbon footprint" since the 70's but global warming continues? The other big question....if the "developing" world is producing more "carbon" pollution than the "developed" world is reducing....are we / can we make a difference other than to bury ourselves in excessive taxes and regulation. To me it is a sure fire method of making ourselves feel better about ourselves as we prepare for anarchy. When the major urban areas start looking for food and fuel, it's going to be a nightmare.....but those with the foresight to store ammo...and food, should be sitting pretty.

Look, you can find 650 anybodys to tell you anything. Doesn't mean it's true. Plenty of "real" scientists believe global warming is a threat and a growing problem. It's not just Al Gore being a boring liberal. After all, Al Gore lives in a house that uses lots of fuel!
So why would this be becoming an issue if there was nothing to it? Why would the world be concerned? Don't tell me, it's the liberals out to ruin your fun. To take away your god-given right to do whatever you please even if it damages others or the environment. Those damn liberals, always trying to control you!
I work in the environmental industry. I've taken courses in all the environmental laws. Grad level. We studied case law. There hasn't been an environmental protection law or regulation created that hasn't had cavemen like you opposing it. Or especially industry and the polluters. Even something as essential as removing lead from paint and gas was opposed. I'm sure you (if you were around) or your kind were opposing that too. If you have time I'll explain how succcessful that was and what the implications are for improvements in public health. Oops, but there I go using that word "public", the bane of conservatives everywhere. You know, public bad, private good.

He didn't create the Climate Change Hysteria. He wasn't even in on the original scientific hand wringers debating this. He is, however, one of the high profile, talking heads who took it on as a cause.

What gives me the biggest pain is that he never ONCE says he makes money by trading in this stuff. I'm the kind of person who is suspicious of that kind of hidden agenda.
Question for HLF: If global warming is man-caused then please explain how there was once farming in Siberia? Or how in the middle ages they grew grapes in England? We didn't have permanent ice caps until 40 million years ago. We've had large and small fluctuations in temperature, ocean patterns plate tectonics, volcanism, comet and asteroid impacts, solar output....for 4.6 billion years. We've only really started measuring any of this for the past century and very inaccurately it might add due to all sorts of variables too numerous to count here. Has human kind had an influence? No doubt. Who cares? Would it change if there were no people? Of course. It's been going on for eons will continue to.
I have studied and continue to study climatology, anthropology, paleontology, geology, oceanography, astrophysics. It's hard to satiate an IQ of 151.

For the same reason that Alar and DDT became huge, unfounded scares.
It made a lot of people a lot of money, and gives them a lot of power.
How many climatologists, facing a decision between recieving no money from the Feds by being against AGW, or recieving huge grants, notoriety, and fame by being for AGW, would choose the former?
There are a hell of a lot more than 650 scientists that are unconvinced, BTW.
AGW is simply another attempt by people with a green agenda to dictate how we live, what we can and cannot do, and when we can do it. They've been trying for 50 years to get that, because they all think they know far better than we do how we should all live.
However, it is amazing to me that during all of this time that they are wringing their hands, our air has gotten way cleaner, our rivers are flowing clean and clear once again, and all of the doom and gloom that they predicted 30 years ago has not happened, and in fact, has become the opposite, all without them being able to tell us what to do.
Look at a climate graph that goes back more than 100 years, and you will see that our current fluctuations are paltry and meaningless. Include the mideval warm period, and the roman warm period, for instance, and you'll see that climate has fluctuated far beyond where we sit currently (cooling back down, as it were).
There are 11 year cycles, 50 year cycles , and 1500 year cycles. THis is well within the variability of all of them, and is also right on schedule in the cyclical grand scheme of things.
HLF, I'm glad you are not worried, because you have nothing to worry about.
DDT had plenty of health implications if only for it's accumulation in humans and it's effect on birds.
