Raleigh, N.C. — Two brothers pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection with a shooting this summer at a home in Raleigh that operated as a brothel.
Rony Alvararo Martinez, 24, and Elvin Adrian Martinez, 21, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Both men were originally charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the June 28 shooting deaths of Marco Antonio Alvarez-Martinez, 19, and Gregorio Lopez-Estrada, 23.
Wake County Assistant District Attorney Susan Spurlin said Elvin Martinez and Rony Martinez charged into the house at 316 Sunnybrook Road, and shot the victims execution style at close range and injured two other people.
"This was all about money," Spurlin said.

Last weekend at the Crossroads of the West gun Show in Sin City a couple and their 10-year old son came by my booth with a Colt AR-15 they had just bought. I told them jokingly that they were just getting started. The both looked puzzled and I said that now they'd want rails, a light, a laser and a red-dot sight. They still looked puzzled. I asked if I could handle the rifle and the man said, "Maybe you can show us how to load it." They had just paid $1,500 [way too much!] for a rifle that they had no idea how to load, how to cock or how to fire. The woman asked where the safety was located and "What that little button on the right side was for." The rifle had come with only one magazine, no sling and no manual. I asked them what they intended to use it for and they said "Home defense." I asked if they'd ever fired a semi-automatic weapon before and they looked at me with blank stares. I then asked, "Why did you decide to buy such an expensive weapon and especially a type that you'd never fired before?" They replied that the vendor told them that if they waited another day, they wouldn't be able to buy such a rifle because of the coming Obama gun ban. I gently suggested that they go somewhere and learn to load, cock and shoot the AR safely and it the meantime, invest in a $300 short barrel, semi-auto shotgun for home defense.

Annie, The prices fro name brand M4s are going up. I saw a S&W M4 exactly like mine (optics ready)for $1500 at the show. The off brands lik etactic etc are at abou ta grand up from 6-700 last summer.
As far as the after purchase shopping (sites etc) I'm all over the net lookin and buying. First though I want to get a nice comfortable ~2,000 rnd cush of various flavors of ammo before I start blowing too many $$s on optics etc. Besides, I decide to trick out my Mossberg 500 12GA.
I have 450 rnds of Lake City 5.56 (62 gr) NATO (the rated cartridge for my S&W) coming and 600 rds of .223 PCM on backorder. I think I might grab 1,000 rnds of green tip steel penetrator and another 600 of PCM .223 for plinking and then be happy as far as ammo goes. Cept I ahve ot feed my Glock and 12GA as well.
Maybe I'll have to work over Xmas break.
