WASILLA, ALASKA (Dec. 19) - The mother of the man engaged to Gov. Sarah Palin's teenage daughter was arrested at her home as part of an undercover drug investigation Thursday, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
The newspaper reports that Sherry L. Johnston, 42, the mother of Levi Johnston, faces six felony counts of "misconduct involving a controlled substance." The arrest came after Alaska State Troopers searched her home.
Law enforcement officials released little information to the paper, saying the investigation was continuing. The charges against Johnston include second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, which the Daily News says generally applies to "manufacturing or delivering drugs."

According to the local constabulary, I live in the center of the methamphetamine manufacturing universe. Lots of open land to hide the diaper-pail or ether smell, lots of poor white trash to buy it and great profits for the seller. A perfect example of the free enterprise system, if only you take out of the equation the usual costs of making bathtub crank, i. e. federal prison or being shot dead by one of your fellow entrepreneurs.

The reason is that we [yeah, I'm one too] have never been afforded affirmative action, set-asides in hiring and contracting and special consideration for SBA loans is that rural, ignorant, racist, redneck, W. T. peckerwoods have never been culturally identified as a minority group. Crank is alost exclusively the province of two distinct social groups, the aforementioned redneck and biker contingent [Mongols, Hell's Angels] as well as gay men. For the latter, methamphetamine curbs that pesky, old appetite, thus keeping the user very svelte indeed. It's cheaper than cocaine or crack and the high lasts much longer.
On another drug related note, the State of Nevada has the highest rate of use of and addiction to prescription pain meds, like hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone and good old morphine sulphate [MS Contin]. The state medical board just revoked a Henderson [a southern suburb of LV, once known as Hooterville] doctor's license to prescribe controlled substances, but not until he was implicated in the deaths of eight patients. The DEA shortly followed suit.

Oh, and every place is supposedly the meth capital of the country. It's almost like people WANT to be known for something even something negative. "they" said the same thing about the Pac NW where I live.

The dirty little secret of meth abuse is the way it enhances sex. I read a speech by a drug policy expert saying that too. Thus the abuse by gay men and their masturbatory-inclined straight brothers. I'm sure people like Schtevo and Spider would love to give it a go.
But being a purtianical culture we can't talk about that.
Methamphetamine also depletes the body of calcium, resulting in the snaggle-tooth appearance of many crank addicts and appears to have a neurotoxic effect on brain cells that produce serotonin and dopamine...pretty steep price to pay for an increased libido.
Oxycontin is godawful addictive. I got physologically addicted by taking it exactly as prescribed after my first knee replacement in 2007. I thought I would never sleep again.
