Planned Parenthood has been shut down in the Texas panhandle.
American Life League's (ALL) Stop Planned Parenthood, or Stopp International, says it took a long time, but their campaign against Planned Parenthood finally got some results. "For 12 years in the Texas panhandle, there has been a fight against Planned Parenthood," he notes. "Planned Parenthood, in 1997, operated 19 clinics in the Texas panhandle."
For coming from right here in Amarillo, TX, I'd have to say this is pretty darn good, especially considering who were about to have in power. He's voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

As a pro-choice medical person person, I find this to be not a very good thing at all. And I suspect HSF will have a field day with this,
You ran them out of town without a necktie party? Things sure have changed down in Mexas.
Congrats to Amarillo, C-Bug.
Looking forward to 1/20. Bring Sunblock.
Blue - I've had no problems on Moonbattery since last week. Did you try emailing Van?
Bill, I'm more thankful for life than I ever have been.
Spidey, Yep. Ran 'em out of town without a necktie party!
Jimbo, Very much looking forward to Hawaii! I meant 1/30.
so am I
I don't understand why this is a victory. PP provides more services than just abortions, and it is a cinch that all that will happen now is a girl will drive a little further to get one.
Now, girls in the Texas panhandle have nothing other than "don't have sex" as their sole way of not getting pregnant or contracting an STD, since I'm assuming that there were not a whole big passle of alternative viewpoints other than PP in that particular area. Do any of you really think that is a viable alternative?
How realistic is that?
Goob,
the problem with PP is their view on abortion. It's their number one cause now. Yes, it used to be just one of their focuses, but now it's their drive.
My daughter-in-law was getting birth control pills from them at one point. They asked her if she'd rather just wait, i.e. play munchkin roulette, then get an abortion if she got pregnant.
I think it's part of their cost analysis personally. Sure at a personal level the pills are cheaper. But at an organization level, the abortions needed per year are probably cheaper than the pills are to supply monthly. All of the women who get pills monthly, wouldn't need abortions yearly.
